Katie - 2006
Katie was not 2 years old when Jack was first diagnosed and so she knows nothing different in her life. Katie went to Grandmas one day while mum took Jack to hospital for a check up and didn't see mum or Jack again for eleven days. This is something that happened quite regularly from then on. The girls would go to bed and when they woke up Mum and Jack were gone and they would either have to go to Grandma's or Nana would come and look after them at home until Mum, Dad and Jack came back home. Katie adapted so well to the unpredictability of our life over the past three and a half years, and we are incredibly proud of the way she has done this. She is a very strong willed, happy and funny little girl and has made the whole family laugh at times when we all wanted to cry.!!! Like her older sisters, Katie is a real treasure and we thank her for being the way she is. Thank you Katie xxx
Katie says
"Jack's treatment is nearly finished and he will not have anymore tablets and we would like a big, big, massive party. We'll celebrate and have some cake and all of the mummy's and daddy's will have to stay.
It has been hard living with Jack because he has been pinching, biting, punching and kicking us. He has also been cuddling and kissing us and we still love Jack and hope that he will get better."
Friday 22nd February 2008 - Katie and Jack invite their friends to Cattle Country to celebrate their birthday.
