July 2003 - Happy and Healthy

With my thumb and Noo Noo - July 2003

         Welcome to my Website

Jack - Fit and Healthy in 2003

Hi !  My name is Jack Luscombe and I am 7 years old.  This is my website and is for keeping up to date family, friends and anyone else who is interested in the story of my life since February 2004 when I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia a week before my 4th Birthday !!!  "Happy Birthday Me!".  I hope you will find it interesting and amusing and not too sad.

DON'T FORGET TO VISIT MY UPDATES PAGE TO SEE HOW I AM DOING NOW, AND PLEASE SIGN MY GUESTBOOK TO LET ME KNOW YOU HAVE VISITED.  THANK YOU xx

Jack is a very bright, very determined little boy. He moves like a scud missile and his grandad used to call him Scud for that reason.  He likes to figure out How Things Work  and enjoys a challenge. His most favourite things are keys and padlocks, as long as they are real working ones!!!  He spends much of his time investigating things such as padlocks, cupboard door hinges, door locks and toy cars, and working out how they work and come apart.  We found out about this when he was about 2-3yrs old, when we started discovering bits of cars and loose cupboard doors as he hadn't quite worked out how to put them together again!!!

Last summer aged 6 years, Jack's love of keys and padlocks had extended to include all the usual "Man Stuff", such as hammers, screwdrivers, and all manner of tools. When we had an extension built last summer, Jack was given a tool belt off the builder which he soon filled with dropped screws and "mislaid" tools. If the builder was missing something, we knew where to look. We also started finding screws sticking out of walls  and loose bath panels and such where he had been "practising" his Trade !!!!

There is one thing you can say about Jack and that is that there is never a dull moment when he is about !!!!

The last six months Jack has become stronger and on his good days when his chemo isn't making him too tired, he can be found riding round the village on his bike. He had been going for rides on a Joey bike that attaches to his Dads, but is strong enough now to have completed a 4 mile circular ride twice, which he absolutely loved doing, and we hope to soon be doing it much more often.

Jack is very much looking forward to finishing his treatment soon and no longer feeling tired and washed out so much of the time and more able to go for rides on his bike with all of us as a family!

We are also looking forward to this time very much

PLEASE HAVE A GOOD LOOK AROUND AND ENJOY YOUR STAY xx
